In this case consider a lightweight or even sheer shawl that offers just enough coverage without being hot.

Plus size bridesmaid dresses should not be proverbially painted on. Tight clothing does not accentuate a plus size woman's body favorably. So look at dresses with movement and flow. It doesn't have to be baggy, but it certainly shouldn't cling.

Mind you, you have to think about your wedding's theme as well, but just keep this in mind and try to avoid pastels.
